On the August 31, 2009 episode of Days of Our Lives Brady apologized to Arianna for over reacting and Daniel began his mission of saving Chloe's life.
Brady and Arianna Connect
Brady confronted Arianna about a man he saw attacking her. She told him not to worry about her because Troy was "turning his life around." She told Brady that he made her realize she needs to give people a second chance, and he apologized for giving her a hard time.
Daniel Plans to Save Chloe
A drunken Daniel called Kate to tell her he didn't want things to end. Kate told her it wasn't right for them to be speaking because she is a witness against him. She accused him of taping the conversation, but he babbled on about dark twists and turns that were coming and about the pain he has been living in the last couple of months. After Kate hung up Daniel said he was going to show her what it's like to be played.
Melanie showed up at the pier with Nathan, and Nathan said he needed to know up front that he was brought to help Chloe, not hurt her. Daniel said he wanted nothing more than to save Chloe, and, after serious convincing, Nathan agreed to help. Nathan left go get Chloe's medical records, and Melanie told Daniel Lucas was planning on pulling Chloe's plug that night.
Later, at the hospital, Melanie flirted with the guard at Chloe's door while Nathan snuck in, left a vile on her table and snuck back out. Daniel then snuck in the room through a side door to administer the drug.
E.J. Learns Nicole and Stefano's secret
An argument over secrets broke out between Nicole and E.J. when E.J. caught Nicole calling Stefano again. Stefano walked in on the two arguing and convinced E.J. that the secret Nicole was keeping was that the pair was planning a surprise birthday party for him. E.J. felt awful and apologized before leaving the room to tend to Sydney.
In private Nicole told Stefano she was freaking out because Dr. Baker had called her. Stefano told her not to worry because Dr. Baker will never be a problem for her again. She then started freaking out about Rafe stealing her phone, and Stefano admitted that he was having Rafe tracked at all times and maybe it would be best if he "killed two birds with one stone."
Later, Stefano eventually came back and told Nicole Dr. Baker is dead. Nicole then revealed that Dr. Baker had written a letter with the truth and given in to his lawyer to read in the event of his death.
Dr. Baker Dead
Rafe found Dr. Baker dead with a rope around his neck. While Rafe tried to see if Dr. Baker was still alive two men in masks pounced on him. They knocked him out, put the rope from Dr. Baker's neck in his hand and ran out of the room.
Not long after they left Sami showed up. She was able to wake Rafe up but started screaming when she saw Dr. Baker's severely bruised neck. Sami believed Rafe when he said he didn't kill Dr. Baker.
Lucas Plans Chloe's End
Lucas told Kate he was considering taking Chloe off life support. He was shocked when she seemed relieved, but Kate tried to convince Lucas she was relieved because Chloe wouldn't want to live as a vegetable.
The conversation soon turned to the idea that Daniel would go on trial for murder, not attempted murder, if Chloe did die. Kate agreed with Lucas that Daniel blinded everyone with his lies.
