The viewers don't need to see the result of the DNA test to know two things. Kate Chancellor is alive and Jill Foster Abbott is in for a huge maternal surprise.

Anyone who has watched the rivalry between Jill Foster Abbott and Katherine Chancellor knows that the viewers are in for a surprise.

A Little History on Katherine Chancellor

In the current story line there is much debate as to whether the woman walking around Genoa City is actually Katherine Chancellor or Marge the waitress. In years past, Marge the waitress along with another less than upstanding citizen, Clint Radison, kidnapped Katherine in a diabolical scheme to grab Katherine's fortune. It eventually failed - thus allowing for the current story line.

Fast forward to date, Katherine crosses paths with Marge and out of the goodness of her heart Katherine secretly tries to help Marge kick her drinking habit. But, as fate would have it, during one of Katherine's help sessions, there was a fatal car accident and Marge is killed.

Genoa City in for a Surprise

Unbeknownst to the Genoa City community, Marge is actually Katherine Chancellor. After much innuendo and a few small pieces of evidence, Amber, (a friend of Mrs. Chancellor's doggedly determined to prove that Marge is in fact her beloved Katherine Chancellor), manages to convince a few friends to help her find and bring Katherine Chancellor back to her true place and position in the community.

Now the drama begins. Jill Foster Abbott, Katherine's nemesis and daughter, refuses to believe that 'Marge' is actually Katherine. She publicly insults and degrades 'Marge.' She also thwarts all attempts to gather evidence that Marge is actually her mother.

As more and more people begin to doubt that Katherine is dead and that she is in fact walking around Genoa City, Jill holds steadfast to her beliefs and puts the kibosh on efforts to exhume 'her mother's body' to prove once and for all through DNA testing that the person in the grave is actually Marge the waitress. Jill cites that other DNA tests comparing Jill's DNA with Marge's didn't match. That was proof in Jill's eyes, that Marge is a fake (au contraire).

The All-Powerful Victor Newman

In every community there is the 'powerful one.' In Genoa City, Victor Newman is the man of power. He is able to convince Jill to give the go ahead to have her mother's body exhumed to remove all doubt as to the identity of the person who is buried in the grave. Jill goes along with the plan because she believes that she will regain control of her mother's company. Jill, in her desperation to control her mother's company, forgot that she was making a deal with the all-powerful Victor Newman. Nothing is ever as it seems when dealing with him.

Final Cliff Hanger

True Young and the Restless fans have a gut feeling as to the outcome of the DNA test. Here's a guess: Katherine Chancellor's DNA will not match Jill's - only to prove that Jill is in fact not Katherine Chancellor's daughter. Stay tuned.
