After months of plotting and killing, General Hospital fans finally see the face of the Text Message Killer.
The Suspects and a Killer
Four Port Charles residents have already fallen victim to the murdering psychopath, known as the Text Message Killer (TMK). Fingers were pointed early on at Johnny Zacchara, but a DNA test performed on one of the victims proved him innocent.
Cooper Barrett was suspected by many of being the infamous villain, but was found dead in his apartment. His death was considered a suicide, due to the accusations against him and a missing DNA report found in his pocket, linking him to one of the victims. Believing that Cooper was TMK, the case was closed. However, when Sam McCall received a threatening text message and was attacked, the women of Port Charles once again feared for their lives.
The spotlight also shone on Logan Hayes for a time. When Lulu Spencer found incriminating evidence in Logan’s apartment, he denied any accusations and insisted that the evidence he collected was to frame Johnny Zacchara. Lulu, who didn’t believe Logan, panicked and struck him on the head, putting him in a coma. Without being able to defend himself, Logan wasn’t officially named the TMK and after proof of an alibi surfaced, he was no longer a suspect.
So who is the TMK? It turns out that, presumed dead, Diego Alcazar is the masked figure responsible for the havoc that has ripped through Port Charles these past months.
Victims and Motive
When Sam shot Diego back in 2006, she assumed, as everyone else did, that he was dead. But Diego survived and returned to Port Charles a year later thirsty for revenge. The news that Jason Morgan killed Diego’s father, Lorenzo, only added to his mounting anger.
Diego first murdered Leticia Juarez, Carly Jack’s nanny. Carly was the intended target, because Diego believed that she had tricked his father into marriage, but Leticia saw Diego and ended up losing her life. Emily Quartermaine was next on Diego’s list and was killed at the Black and White ball, because she was Jason’s sister.
Georgie Jones was strangled in the park because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Diego wanted her sister, Maxie, dead because she had testified against him in a previous case that ultimately saw him behind bars. Cooper Barrett was murdered because he was getting too close to figuring out the identity of the TMK.
The Current Situation
Diego kidnapped Sam, as well as Elizabeth Webber, but Jason now knows that Diego is the one behind the murders and plans to take him down. Will it be too little too late for Sam and Elizabeth? Watch General Hospital weekdays to find out!
