CBS's Young and the Restless Winter 2010 SpoiledA Preview of What Lies Ahead for the Residents of Genoa City
Find out what's in store for Genoa City's residents in Winter 2010 with this summary of all of the latest spoilers and rumors for CBS's top-soap Y&R.
After a dark and depressing year on the Y & R that included the deaths of two legacy characters (Brad and Colleen Carlton) and numerous storylines that seemed too unrealistic to believe (Katherine’s “death,” Ashley’s gaslighting, and Phillip IV’s reappearance), what does 2010 have in store for the residents of Genoa City? Find out below. Victor Newman Returns to GenoaCity TV Guide’s Michael Logan reports that The Great Victor Newman will return to Genoa City on January 15, 2010. Victor had left town in early November to recover from a heart transplant, but before he left, he promised Jack and Billy Abbott that when he returned, he would have revenge against the Abbotts. Even though the heart he received belonged to Colleen Carlton, the niece of Jack and Billy, Victor’s plans for revenge have not changed. How will Victor’s return shake up Genoa City? Katherine Chancellor’s Long-lost DaughterAfter it was revealed in 2009 that Jill Abbott was not really the daughter that Katherine had given up for adoption, Jill became intent on finding and locating Katherine’s real daughter. Thanks to the detective work of private investigator Paul Williams and his friend Nina Webster, the identity of Katherine’s daughter was found just in time for Christmas. Jill presented the name of Katherine’s daughter to her as a Christmas gift. The name was revealed to be Joanne Glover, an as-yet unseen character, although some fans are speculating that she could be the mysterious and villainous mother of Ryder Callahan. Although Katherine initially declines to meet with her daughter, she changes her mind in early January 2010. Spoilers from Soapcentral.com tease that “[t]he truth about Katherine’s daughter is shocking and unexpected.” Who is Joanne Glover, and what impact will she have on the residents of Genoa City? The Sheila Carter Saga Continues? On November 30, 2009, Soapcentral.com reported that Sheila Carter, one of the Y&R’s greatest villains, will return to Genoa City in 2010, even though she was apparently killed in 2007 by nemesis Lauren Fenmore Baldwin. If this is true, then it is likely that Sheila, rather than Joanne Glover, is the mother of Ryder Callahan and Daisy Tomkins, and is the mastermind behind the art fraud, Daniel being framed for murder, and Lauren being terrorized by rats. What other mayhem does Sheila Carter have in store for Lauren and her family? And now that Eden is suspicious of Daisy and Ryder, will her children and minions be exposed for their part in Sheila’s plan? Neil and Malcolm: The Feuding Winters BrothersWhen Lily suffers from a medical scare, her aunt Olivia calls Lily’s biological father Malcolm. Malcolm returns to Genoa City with a warm reception from Lily but a cold reception from his brother Neil (who Lily considers her true father). Neil urges Malcolm to leave Genoa City, but Malcolm refuses. Spoilers from Soapcentral.com tease that “Lily, Cane, and Devon find themselves caught up in the fireworks between the Winters brothers.” Will these brothers, who have always had a rocky relationship, finally be able to put aside their differences and unite in order to help Lily through her illness? Billy Abbott’s Christmas CarolAfter yet another drunken binge at Jimmy’s bar, Billy passes out in the snow and has a Christmas Carol-style vision of what his future will be like if he does not get his life back on track. With the ghost of his father John Abbott to guide him, Billy sees that his magazine Restless Style has become a huge success, but at an enormous price: he has lost his girlfriend Mackenzie forever, and he has not been a part of his daughter Delia’s life. Billy even envisions his daughter getting married without him present. Billy vows to change his ways in 2010 so that the latter two visions will not come true. What will this mean for Billy’s vendetta against the Newman family? Tucker McCall and the Chancellor IPOAfter obtaining all 25% of the Chancellor Industries stock offering, Genoa City’s newest billionaire Tucker McCall is quickly becoming integrated with all the town’s major denizens. He’s found a protégé in his Head of Security, J.T. Hellstrom; he’s become quick friends with business associate Katherine, and has already begun a romantic relationship with Jill. The “black widow” Gloria Bardwell has also taken a liking to him, and businessman Jack Abbott is quite interested in Tucker’s dealings around town. Spoilers indicate that Tucker will have a surprise connection to one of Genoa City’s most prominent residents. Could that connection be to Nikki Newman, who Tucker recognized from her days of stripping at The Bayou? Sharon, Adam, and the Baby Switch Sharon and Adam elope at the end of 2009, although Sharon has no idea that Adam secretly gave her newborn baby Faith to Ashley Abbott to replace the baby that Ashley had miscarried. After their wedding, Adam writes a note to Sharon that informs her that her baby is still alive. Meanwhile, Sharon’s ex-husband Nick learns that the Newman Jet, which was carrying Adam and Sharon, may have crashed. In reality, the jet unexpectedly encountered a severe storm and made an emergency landing, but all inside are unharmed. Nick is distraught to learn of Sharon’s sudden marriage to Adam, his half-brother and sworn enemy. This puts another strain on Nick’s already-rocky marriage to Phyllis. After his surprising revelation to Sharon, how will Adam continue to cover up that Faith is really Sharon’s baby? And what will the future hold for Sharon and Adam and Nick and Phyllis as Sharon continues to be drawn back to her ex-husband Nick? To watch these storylines and more play out, be sure to tune in to The Young and the Restless weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
